The Promise of Partnerships

The Department of State recognizes it needs innovative systems and solutions to solve critical problems.  The Global Partnership Initiative has been pioneering innovation solutions, helping government adapt to a changing world through partnerships and collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders.

The new transactional model of engagement focuses on collaboration leading to commercial opportunities to solve targeted, shared challenges.  The goal is to provide a platform that enables the private sector and other partners to identify and pursue commercial opportunities, innovations and solutions in partnership with government and other critical stakeholders.

Brazil Focus

While a global program in the long-run, the first project will be launched in alignment with the US-Brazil Bilateral Agenda.  In collaboration with the Brazilian Government, priority areas have been identified and the Dept of State is keen to begin exploring opportunities with potential private sector partners to ensure these areas align with private sector interests:

  • Finance: Facilitate new consumers into the formal financial market
  • Food: Decrease losses in the food value chain
  • Waste: Increased industrial and consumer recycling solutions

Collaboration represent a tremendous opportunity to challenge the way we approach innovative solutions.  Join us as we work towards a new model of collaboration focusing on tangible commercial opportunities.
